Sophie belkin
Actor • Singer • Dancer

SOPHIE BELKIN is an actor, singer, and dancer from Branchburg, NJ, and is based in NYC. Her passion for acting started at a young age when she began working on commercials and television shows. Some credits include a principal role on Law and Order: Criminal Intent, a commercial for Dr. Scholls, and various voiceover commercials, including Coppertone and HBO Family.
Sophie is a recent graduate from Western Connecticut State University where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre (Summa Cum Laude). She has studied under dance legends Mary Ann Lamb, Tony Award winner Scott Wise, and Tony-nominated Elizabeth Parkinson as well as theatre and film industry professionals including Matt Newton, Tim Howard, and John Hickok.

Sophie made her Off-Broadway debut in Mozart’s Don Giovanni: A Rock Opera as the understudy for both Donna Anna and Donna Elvira. She has also performed regionally at many wonderful theatres including Berkshire Theatre Festival and Centenary Stage Company.
Sophie is also a proud Jewish-American woman who loves taking on projects that highlight her culture. She has experience working with the Jewish Plays Project on various readings and most recently played Shira in a staged reading of Oy Band at Goodspeed Musicals.
When she is not performing, you can find her making the world’s best blueberry muffins and banana bread, painting her friends’ nails, or debating other New Jersey natives on whether or not Central Jersey exists (it totally does!)

This summer, Sophie made her Off-Broadway debut as the Female Understudy in Mozart's Don Giovanni: A Rock Opera at The Cutting Room NYC.

Workshops! Sophie was involved in pre-production for Bat Boy at New York City Center this fall. She was also recently involved in a concert presentation of a new musical called Paper Brigade at the Laurie Beechman Theatre.

After graduating, Sophie signed with Avalon Artists Group. Thanks to Craig and the entire team!
